Hi friends! With my due date just two short days away, I finished up with lots of last minute to-dos for both work and home just in the nick of time! The very last thing we just finished here at the Rainier home is the nursery for our little guy, Avett Brooks, who we will be meeting on February 3!
His name is pronounced /Ay/-vett after the Avett Brothers (one of my husband and my favorite bands!) and his middle name is after a beloved family pet we lost a few years ago. A little unconventional all around, I know, but that is us 😉
I decided to do his nursery in taupe and a soft denim blue with pops of orange and a lot of mix and match patterns. I recycled the furniture and some decor from his big brother’s old nursery, and added in a few handmade accents and a little Native American flair with the teepee blanket and the feathered, suede and leather handmade mobile. I made the mobile myself using an idea I found (where else?!) on pinterest! I also made the Avett letters for the shelf out of wooden letters and scrapbook paper from Michaels- all you need to do this is spray adhesive and an exacto knife! To honor his name, I found an awesome Etsy shop that created the Avett Brothers lyrics typography, which we love! I added some artwork on a cork board that Avett’s Auntie Fiona (my little sister) and his big brother, Wyatt created <3 In case you want to know where I got some of the other items, I will post links to the places I shopped below!
