A bride being escorted by her dad to the ceremony on horseback?! Yes please! That is just one of the many ways that Alyssa & Matt’s wedding was amazing!
One of my favorite things about any wedding is when a couple incorporates details that are unique to them, and infuses their personalities into the style and excitement of the day. Alyssa & Matt did just that with their Southern-inspired farm wedding. So many unique and gorgeous ideas were executed to perfection by Marcie of Celebrations by Marcie. The wedding took place on Alyssa’s family’s stunning farm. Every part of the day was beautiful a memory in the making, with more than enough laughter and happy tears to go around.
From Alyssa: “Many elements of our wedding design were incorporated to share our journey- our faith, heritage and love story. For instance, the southern comfort food and signature drinks reflect our love for the south, where we went to college and where our relationship truly started to grow.”
Some other sentimental/DIY and handmade details that made the day so heartfelt and unique:
- The lace on Alyssa’s veil and buttons on her dress are from her mom’s wedding gown.
- The horseshoes and the antlers used throughout the wedding decor reflected their respective passions for hunting and horses.
- Alyssa’s Aunt She She or Charlene made the chocolate cream pies- 0ne of Alyssa’s favorites!
- The Bible that the ring bearer carried down the aisle was Alyssa’s late grandmother’s, Mary Lou Ford, that has been passed down.
- The bar, cocktail tables & sweetheart table were lovingly made by Alyssa’s dad.
- The “barn door” with the seating chart and floral boxes were created by Matt.
- Alyssa’s dad also grew the sunflowers we used in the bouquets.
First looks are my FAVORITE because I just love to see the smiles and tears of joy as everyone gets a first glimpse at the person they love! Alyssa did a first look with her dad, bridesmaids, and finally Matt!! Each reaction is so beautiful and fun to watch and capture!
The ceremony was held on the dock of the pond on Alyssa’s farm, officiated by a close friend. Alyssa’s dad escorted her to the ceremony on her horse, Black. How special is that?
After the ceremony we took a little off-road adventure to the top of the ridge to some farm land to catch the cotton candy sunset. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more gorgeous sunset!!
I felt SO honored to capture these memories for Alyssa & Matt and their amazing family and friends. Alyssa & Matt, I am blessed to have become friends with you throughout the time we worked together, and Angelina & I loved witnessing your beautiful love story begin. We wish you all the love, laughter and happiness in the world as you continue your journey together <3 <3 <3
